About The Founder

Company founder Jeffrey B. Meltzer has been in the hardwood industry since 1994. He founded Universal Hardwood Flooring & Moulding, Inc., a distributor, wholesaler and importer of hardwood flooring and related products.

Inspection Experience
Mr. Meltzer, an NWFA (National Wood Flooring Association) Certified Professional, is well versed in the NWFA inspection process and has performed hundreds of detailed and well-documented inspections for individuals, manufacturers, installers and institutions. Mr. Meltzer’s inspections and reports are known for being technically strong and focused on key issues.

The NWFA developed its certification program in 1998 to recognize and promote wood flooring competence. Such certification is the industry mark of excellence and professional credibility. In 2005, the NWFA launched the NWFA Certified Professionals, a stand-alone corporation with a fully certified inspection training and testing program. Mr. Meltzer holds certifications from both the NWFA and the NWFA Certified Professionals.

Expert Witness
Mr. Meltzer has served many attorneys as a credible forensic expert witness in numerous hardwood flooring disputes. He has also served as an expert hardwood flooring consultant for law firms, real estate developers, real estate management companies, manufacturers, flooring contractors and homeowners throughout the Western United States. 

Dispute Resolution
In January 2007, Mr. Meltzer received his certification as a mediator by the Los Angeles County Bar Association in order to offer an alternative to costly litigation in the wood flooring industry.
